Beaches in Koh Samui
There are many different beaches in Koh Samui. The largest and maybe the most famous beach on Koh Samui is Chaweng beach. Other beaches on Koh Samui are Lamai beach, Bophut beach, Maenam, Big Buddha and Choeng Mon.

Chaweng Beach
Chaweng Beach is about 7 km and the most established among's the beaches. Chaweng attracts both young travelers and family tourists. There are plenty of accommodation to choose from so it wont be any problem to find something for you. The beach is very relaxing even in high season when there are a little more people on the beach. The water temperature is about 26 - 27 degrees.
There are also plenty of restaurants in Chaweng beach that offers excellent food and drinks for all kind of taste. Everything from Thai food, western food to superb seafood. In the evening, you can visit many bars and restaurants that lies right on the beach.
Lamai Beach
Lamai Beach is a little bit smaller than Chaweng beach but has plenty of hotels and resorts. Accommodations are a little bit cheaper than Chaweng and there are lots of bungalows and hotel rooms to choose from. Lamai has also a good selection of bear bars and restaurants so there won´t be any problem to find something to do in the evening and night.
The famous Grandfather and Grandmother rocks is a favorite among's both foreign and thai tourists and lies a little bit down on Lamai beach road.
Maenam Beach
Maenam Beach is a calm and clean beach and about 4 km long. You can find many of the more expensive hotels here but also many bungalows. Maenam is the right place to stay if you want to take it easy and relax.
Big Buddha Beach
Big Buddha Beach is the home of Big Buddha. You can find Big Buddha beach east of Boput. The beach is also very calm and a perfect place to relax in.
Choeng Mon Beach
Choeng Mon Beach is only about 15 minutes from Chaweng but the beach is still very calm and the water next to perfect.
Boput Beach
Boput Beach is the favorite beach for many tourists. The sea is very calm and the atmosphere are relaxing. Perfect place if you donīt wan´t the wild nightlife next to you.
